Sampson came into the B.A.R.C. program when a good Samaritan saved him from the neglect of his previous owner, who kept him tied to the front porch a majority of his life. He was very emaciated and battling sickness, but he was one strong boy that was determined to get better.
At 6 years old, Sampson was finally “home” when he was adopted by Frank and Carolynn of Jacksonville. They showed him the love he deserved and what it felt like to be a member of the family. Unfortunately, Sampson lost his battle when he was diagnosed with end stage heartworm disease. He peacefully crossed the Rainbow Bridge with his loving family by his side. Sampson will be missed, but never forgotten.
Heartworm disease is easily preventable. Please remember to give your pet a monthly heartworm pill - that’s all it takes to avoid this deadly disease.
