Hi everybody! My name is Patrick and I am one happy, handsome boy! I have only been at my foster home for a short time but I am so ready to have a family of my own that I am trying to learn all the rules of the house as fast as I can and it doesn't even matter if I get a cookie when I sit or stay, I just want to make you happy! (I won't turn down that doggie cookie though, and I am careful to be gentle when I take it from your hand)!
I am a male white Boxer with big, soulful brown eyes and very soft fur. I am about 2-3 years old and, oh yeah! I have to tell you this, I can hear! You don't have to raise your voice to me either, I can hear as well as my foster brother and sister who are not white Boxers. I listened to the vet as he explained that some white Boxers have a recessive gene that can cause them to be deaf, but I don't have that kind of gene (thank goodness). I can hear a bread wrapper being opened in the kitchen or the car key's rattling (I love to ride in the car with my foster Dad) and when my foster mom scoops out some food for one of the four cats that live here, I head straight for the kitchen just in case she is also scooping out some of that delicious dog food for us Boxers. By the way, I am such a good eater that I have gained 14 pounds since I was rescued from the shelter. That was a really good day for me. I was very skinny and sick with pneumonia and had to take some medicine and get some rest to get well and in no time at all I was feeling much better and ready to start showing everyone how smart and nice I am. I am housetrained, know how to use the doggie door to go outside to potty and have learned sit, stay and "knock it off" (that means whatever I am doing I have to stop doing it).
I have a real smooshy face with a lopsided grin and a tendency to let my tongue hang out of the right side of my mouth (the vet said my lower jaw may have been broken earlier in my life). My foster parents smile every time I look at them because it really makes me look very adorable and cute! Watch for updates on me as I get closer and closer to the day that I can go to my very own family. I am heartworm positive and as soon as the vet agree's I will be treated. I would love to be a member of your family so please, go ahead and fill out an adoption form for me as I am available for the foster-to-adopt program. Love and Boxer kisses to all!
