Broudy entered BARC after his owner passed away and he went through a lengthy legal questioning of his ownership. Due to his previous experiences, he is very shy around people but gets along with all dogs and will instantly start to play with them. He likes to play with the 75 and 43 pound dogs in his foster home but also enjoys snuggling with the Cairn Terrier in his foster family. Broudy gets along well with cats. When he first entered BARC he wouldn't leave his crate unless he had to go to the bathroom. Now, he will only go in his crate if there are a lot of new people in his house but comes out frequently to check on people. He has a harder time warming up to adult males. If there is a female in the house, he will follow them around. If you find Broudy is having a hard time adjusting, the way to his heart is with food. He will go near anyone for a taste of people food. Even when frightened, Broudy shows no signs of aggression. He will simply lean on his owner for comfort. Broudy is housebroken and also enjoys going for walks. He is very well mannered but if you walk him a long leash he will circle around you the entire walk, so a shorter leash is recommended. Broudy is the sweetest, most care-free dog you will ever meet, he just needs time to adjust in new situations. Broudy's foster family tries to get him around new people in different environments on a regular basis. It seems to help his progress. If you let him on the bed or couch with you, he will snuggle for hours and even paw at you and nudge you for attention. If you think you have the time to help Broudy come out of his shell, please fill out an application. Broudy is currently being fostered by April and Larry in Green Cove Springs, FL.
