Dixie came into our program from an animal cruelty case December 2006. She was emaciated, frightened, and in the last few days of a pregnancy. She stayed in foster care long after her puppies were weaned and adopted. She was a very sweet girl but also very timid. When she got frightened she would seek out her crate for comfort. But with lots of love, attention, and good nutrition she finally started to come around. She learned in her foster home that she could be happy. Her favorite thing to do was playing with her foster brothers and sister. If she wasn't playing, she wanted to cuddle on the couch. Dixie had been in our program for almost a year but we knew she was just waiting patiently for that perfect home. And she found it! She is now living with her new mom and boxer brother Riley and she is spoiled rotten. She loves her brother very much. They play all day together and even snuggle together at night. Her mom couldn't be happier, "They just fit!" she told us.
